The Illinois EPA web site has been completely redesigned! A more streamlined appearance and content organization should make it easier for you to find information you need. We hope any inconvenience you might have learning the new structure is offset by a better overall experience accessing necessary information. We plan to continue to refine and improve the web site over the next several months. For additional help with navigation view the Navigation Examples Section.
The Home Page consists of the following components:
The top navigation menu appears on all of our new web site pages. Users can return to the home page by clicking on the Illinois EPA image located at the top left of every page.
Informational content has been structured under the following categories:
For example, an educator visiting our site could quickly locate educational resources and information by selecting Educators and clicking the appropriate drop down topic.
Talk To Us, Services Map and Forms also provide quick access to FAQ’s, locating services such as household hazardous waste collection sites and also locating forms. Users may also select Search and locate information from either the A to Z Topic List (an alphabetic listing of topics) or by entering search terms and hitting enter on your keyboard or clicking the blue box (Search capabilities will improve over time).
The Home Page features revolving pictures. Selecting the Learn More button on any picture will direct you to the associated content.
Above the Featured Programs Slider you may select one of four Audience Driven Information Centers (For Citizens, For Business, For Government and For Educators). By selecting one of the Four Centers you will be taken to targeted content.
The Featured Programs section allows users to select information about popular Illinois EPA programs. Users may move blocks forward or backward by selecting the left/right arrows just above the blocks. By selecting one of the Dots below the Featured Programs you may move the entire page at once.
