2013 GEC Interns

Director Lisa Bonnett welcomed the 2013 class of Governor's Environmental Corps (GEC) interns to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency on Monday, June 3, 2013. This year 23 students are participating in this 9-week mentoring program which is designed to give college juniors, seniors and graduate students hands-on experience in the field of environmental protection. The program is a public/private partnership with 14 Illinois companies stepping forward to compensate students for their work over the summer at the Agency. Nearly 800 students have participated in the GEC Program over the past 22 years.
